The 59th IMTA Conference
Bern, Switzerland
October 9th - 13th, 2017

„Excellence" – the contribution of (military) psychology to excellent performance

In military organizations the relevance of the human dimension regarding the accomplishment of its diverse, demanding and often dangerous missions has been recognized. The same applies to the increase of the importance of military psychology. Military psychological expertise is required in all areas of military life and military deployment. However, in order to make a decisive contribution to the success of the individual service member as well as of the whole organization military psychologists must strive to achieve highest levels in their fields of activity. Therefore, the exchange of knowledge and know-how is a necessity.

Traditionally, the presentation and discussion of current research results and practical experiences will be in the foreground. An opening ceremony with renowned keynote speakers, as well as further social events will form the framework of the conference.

IMTA 2017 will be held at the „Mezenerkaserne“ in the city of Bern. It will be organized by the Military Academy in cooperation with the Armed Forces College of the Swiss Armed Forces. As the chairman of this conference I have the honor to invite you to our beautiful capital of Switzerland. I would be very much pleased if you could come to Switzerland next autumn and contribute to an inspiring conference of high standing. We for our part will spare no effort to make IMTA 2017 a truly valuable and excellent experience for all.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Bern.
