The 54th Annual IMTA Conference was held in Dubrovnik, Croatia
from November 5th till November 8th 2012
and was hosted by the Psychological Service of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The venue was the Excelsior Hotel.
151 participants from 27 nations enjoyed the full program with
four parallel tracks including 3 keynotes,
and about 100 paper presentations, symposia and posters.
The IMTA Steering Committee endorsed the nomination of Dr Colonel Hubert Annen
for the 2012 Harry H. Greer Award. Dr COL Annen is Head of Military Psychology and Military Pedagogy Studies
at the Swiss Military Academy in Zurich.
The Steering Committee was also extremely pleased to accept three new IMTA members:
- The South African 'Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Defence Peace Safety and Security'
represented by Mrs Adelai van Heerden
- The 'South African National Defence Force's Directorate Psychology' represented by Col Dr Petrus Bester
- The 'Military Psychology Section of the Norwegian Defence Command and Staff College / Norwegian Defence University College'
represented by Mr Jan Heimdal
The conference also included warm and well attended social events: a ‘Meet and Greet’ while watching over Dubrovnik,
the IBTA at Gradska Kavana, Taverna Arsenal in the old city center and the traditional banquet at the Excelsior Hotel.
A guided tour in the old city and optional tours after the end of the conference made the week perfect.
Maj Ingrid (Inga) Cippico, Biserka (Biba) Jaksic and their team did a very nice job to make the 54th IMTA conference
a memorable one. Thanks and congratulations to everyone!
